No, strictly it’s not necessary to have completed Spanish Uncovered (Level 1) first, but you will need to have good grasp of basic Spanish in order to take this course.
That’s because this is a “pre-intermediate” level course - it’s not designed for complete beginners. That’s why we are currently only offering this new course to those who have already enrolled in Spanish Uncovered (Level 1).
I definitely recommend taking Spanish Uncovered (Level 1) before you start Level 2. The lessons in Level 2 will make a lot more sense and the story will be a lot more enjoyable if you’ve completed Level 1 first.
But with saying that - you don’t need to remember every detail of the Level 1 course. This course builds on everything you’ve learned previously!
